In today's world there are way too many diets, pills, weight loss programs, “metabolism boosters,” coffees, drink mixes, and all these things promising to help you lose weight or tone up your body. Trust me, being a woman in this day an age, I have tried many things. Many things that people hear about could include garcinia pills, metabolism drinks, itWorks, Weight watchers, weight loss patches, Flat tummy tea, waist trainers, Keto, Skinny fit, or in general not even eating anything at all. We strive to look a certain way and compare ourselves to others and celebrities. Our self esteem is so affected just by how we look at ourselves in the mirror and thinking that we need to look a different way. So I am here to share exactly what I had to go through and learn from to actually be satisfied and able to see my weight loss progression. But please understand it can not happen overnight. It can not happen in a month. You can lose weight in a couple weeks or a month which is great! But the noticeable and major differences come with time and persistence. I wasn’t going for big muscles or abs, I don’t need to look like Megan Fox or all those attractive instagram models (who edit their photos like crazy.) I just wanted to look better for ME and me only. & Now my confidence is restored and I am feeling great! Below I have listed tips, but also the things I would eat, drink, substitute, or do. Here are my secrets…..

  1. I ate what I wanted. Yes people. You heard me correctly. I ate anything I wanted. However, the biggest thing about eating what you want, is enjoying it while it lasts and ONLY eating the serving size. I got to eat my cheetos and swiss rolls and potato chips but ALL in serving size. I did try to make a more conscious effort to get more healthy foods in my diet. Fruits, vegetables, and high protein meats. Now, I certainly didn’t don’t do that a lot because it is expensive. Unfortunately, that is a huge issue for a lot of us.

  2. I LITERALLY got so invested into a job and other activities that kept me DISTRACTED where I forgot I was even hungry or I wasn’t even hungry because I was occupied and not eating to eat again. Reducing the snacks and being “bored” seriously makes a huge difference.

  3. I am not a heavy drinker. Sure, I will go for my glass of wine or a couple beers, but I don’t party so hard that I drank myself to sleep or to the point of feeling sick and having nasty hangovers. Doing that all the time or even every weekend will very quickly reduce your metabolism and retain carbs and calories in your body.

  4. THE BIGGEST thing you can do is BURN more than you eat. This doesn't even have to be crazy cardio or weight lifting or anything that technically requires sweat. I have a good meal in the morning and then I am either walking a lot, picking up things at work, doing my homework, out with my family, or sleeping. All these things burn calories but I also have light meals which then allows the body to burn more than what you ate. THAT burns fat. The nasty fat that we don’t like.

  5. GET RID of stressful people and situations. Kick out bad people or “friends’’ in your life who cause you stress. If your job is so stressful to where you can barely handle it, find something new. See a therapist or counselor if you need advice. By willing to be by yourself more often if it means not being around such stressful things.

My Routine:

-Eat breakfast!!!!! Eggs are great for fat burning and keeping you full, bananas are great for metabolism, and peanut butter toast gives you carbs and protein.

-Take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar 1-2 times a day before a meal (on an empty stomach) this helps the body detox and gets ready to burn fat and help metabolism.

-Rice and chicken (or couscous) go a long way with filling you up and keep you from getting hungry

-Try some small in-home workouts like mini-abs, planks, lunges, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or watch TABATA workout videos (for those of you who like to dance.)

-Take a multivitamin to make sure your body is getting enough of what you need to properly lose weight

-Drink lots of water and cut out soda. This is SO hard for me. But, like I said I do allow myself every once and awhile to have soda. But I drink flavored waters, carbonated waters, or juices. The carbonation however will make you feel very bloated.

-Get at LEAST 8 hours of sleep. Sleep helps EVERYTHING.

-Start a new hobby to help keep yourself distracted. Journal, blog, pray, arts & crafts, shoveling snow, SOMETHING that keeps you busy and not wanting to eat out of boredom.

-Did I go to the gym? Like maybe 7 times within the last 3 months….mostly when I was feeling very energetic.
