Over it!

Usually, running late it not my forte. This is not about me running late and talking about sleeping it. I mean I guess it kind of is, but not completely. Long story short, I'm making my way to class, I even left early today, and I get stuck in pouring rain and hail with added on traffic. I literally RUN into class with my rain boots on and backpack flying all over. I dropped my keys and had to run back to get them. I get to class only 8 minutes late, but the pop quiz is already over and everyone is already discussing the answers. I live an hour from school, so the only reason I come on Thursday is to take the quizzes. Obviously, missed the mark on that one. My computer is nearly dying, and I forgot my notebook at home. Truly, waste of gas today. However, through my anger of running late, I didn't have the energy to get back up and drive an hour home. So I decided to sit and ponder. Why is being late such an issue? Why does everything have to start at a specific time? These sound like stupid questions, and they are very broad. Although, being late just to work or class may seem like the end of the world, but do we want to be late in a situation like the end of the world? Zombie apocalypse. Floods. Fire. Terrorism. How do you think the world is going to end? This is a personal question, whether you are religious or not, how do you think the world is going to end? Do you believe that humans with be the cause of our own death? Or will it be mother nature who decides to bring on her wrath? What if this "God" that people discuss is real? I am a Christian, I have my faith and my beliefs. I have learned that Jesus promised to come back to earth one day and save us from hell on earth. But this is my belief, I realize that not everyone believes the same thing! But if you were "late" to the world ending, my biggest question is this, "What were you enjoying before the end of the world came?" Were you running late because you were spending time with a loved one? Were you running late because you were saying goodbye to someone leaving you forever? Or were you running late because you decided to take a trip and do things you have never done before? The end is always near. No matter what people say about the "end of the world" the end for anyone could be spontaneous and unexpected. So ask yourself, "What can I do today that is worth being late for?" Is kissing my fiance goodbye worth being late to a meeting? Is hugging my dad worth getting stuck at a red light and waiting? Is buying my grandma her favorite flowers worth being late to a birthday party? What is worth being late to you? And what is not? If you run late, focus on what is the most important. Don't worry about getting yelled at or missing a quiz. Everything happens for a reason. It is okay to be late. Sometimes. (:
